iced chai latte {gf,v}


Back in the day I used to be a wee bit obsessed with chai lattes from Starbucks. Huge, sugar & dairy filled chai lattes. Afterwards came the huge sugar/caffeine rush followed by the huge, blood sugar crash (usually accompanied by a huge stomach ache). Let me just tell you...this version is so much better. No crash. No stomach ache. Just light, refreshing flavor-filled chai. If you're used to regular tea, you may be able to omit the agave and date. If you're used to the Starbucks version, you may need to keep them in there for a while. It's ok. Lean into it my friends. Making healthy choices and switches can be challenging. So lean away. We can lean on each other.

iced chai latte
{gluten free, vegan}

{{{INGREDIENTS}}}
*1-1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
*1/2 cup water
*4 chai tea bags
*1/4 tsp cinnamon
*1/4 tsp vanilla
*1/2 tbsp agave
*1 date pitted and chopped (optional)

{{{DIRECTIONS}}}
1.Place all ingredients into a sauce pan and place on medium heat.
2.Let ingredients steep for 5 minutes.
3.Place all ingredients into fridge for an hour or until cooled.
4.Remove tea bags and date if used and serve over ice.

Serves 2
