the manhattan

Happy thirsty Thursday!
Today's post is brought to you by Arik. A simple, classic drink for all you whiskey lovers out there. The typical garnish for Manhattans is a cherry, but since we didn't have any, he subbed in a few olives. (they're both round, so it seemed like the logical substitution) He did comment that he's going to hunt down some cherries for his next Manhattan to add a bit more sweetness. I think he's sweet enough already. (wink)

The Manhattan

*2 oz whiskey
*1/2 oz vermouth
*2-3 dashes bitters
*cherry for garnish (or in our case, olives)

1.Place all ingredients into drink shaker with ice and shake until mixed.
2.Serve over ice.

Serves 1

What's for happy hour tonight?
