peanut butter doggy treats

We have three dogs...three dogs that go through a lot of food and a LOT of treats. Once in a while I like to save a little dough (and feel like suzy homemaker) and make their treats from scratch. This recipe is a fan favorite in our house. Flaxseed is great for canine coats, and almond milk is a good alternative to dairy if your dog has a sensitive stomach. And if your fur babies are anything like ours, peanut butter always creates a drool inducing frenzy. (I'm pretty sure our dogs would eat an old tire if peanut butter was on, in, or remotely close to it.) These treats are knoxville holt dog approved!

{Can we have some now?}

peanut butter doggy treats

*2 cups whole wheat flour
*1/2 cup flaxseed meal
*1 cup almond milk
*1 cup peanut butter
*1 tbsp baking soda

1.Preheat oven to 350.
2.Combine all the ingredients to make a thick dough.
3.Knead on a floured surface.
4.Roll out dough until 1/2" thick and use cookie cutters to make shapes.
5.Place on greased cookie sheet. (I used coconut oil)
6.Bake for 20-25 minutes.
7.Let cool before transferring to air tight container. Treats last about 2 weeks.
Makes approx 100 two inch treats.

 {Maybe just one more? Pretty please?}

  1. Cute dogs!
    Come say hi!

    1. Thanks Regine! We think so...though we may be a bit biased.
